3. Well, on one hand I would say go for the extra, on the other hand I
would say lose the digit.

With and extra pinky one could pick both nostrils at the same time but I would have to get all new gloves. How would you give the Vulcan "Live long and Prosper" sign? And the authorities would just go nuts tryng to finger print a suspect with an extra pinky.

Similar problems with losing a pinky. No place for a pinky ring. Equally difficult to give the Vulcan sign and getting finger printed. And that thing of hooking pinkies with another to seal a bet would also be lost.

I just can't seem to get a grasp on what would be the right answer to this question.

7. Extra fingers are much easier to deal with than too few...
