Woman fined heavily in download case
http://www.comcast.net/articles/finance/20090618/US.TEC.Music.Downloading/

What a waste of time. Out of all of the downloaders, they single people out, which seems wrong in itself. And real wrongdoers like Cheney don't even have to pay a cent.

8. And then the bastards never give any of that money to the musicians
Their claim is that the musicians are deprived of their royalties yet they keep the money for themselves. Even better, the RIAA goes after people who downloaded music from bands that never joined the RIAA.

12. I have all but stopped downloading from P2P
Edited on Fri Jun-19-09 09:43 AM by mvd
Had one moment of weakness and promptly stopped again and got rid of the downloads. I REALLY wanted to see if one CD was good. I just believe in paying for music. But for the RIAA to maintain they are so ethical in comparison is silly. Yes, there's the way they treat the artists, and also price manipulation/gouging. Some prices on iTunes actually increased lately to $11.99 per album and $1.29 per song.

9. $80,000 per song?
They are making one poor woman that violated copyrighted issue on 24 songs pay for everybody?? That is nuts.
