XX, and it occurred to me that maybe I should look less locally for the momd (or womd, if she's brave) and instead ply my wares on DU. I don't see why true love wouldn't permit a regular commute from, say, NYC, to Bangor Maine. Your thoughts?

4. Laughing.
It seemed crystal clear to me but when I reread it, mebbe not. I'm talking about a couple who met and fell in love on DU. Sorry for being obscure!

2. Well, if you find him (or her) on DU, you probably don't have to have that awkward
conversation where you sound them out politically. You know where they stand, and you can avoid the moonbat-crazy right-wingers... B-)

5. Well, that's obviously true.
But for those of us "out there" it holds more meaning than you might imagine. I have effectively eliminated 75% of the people I meet based on political stance (I know you have a different experience, and I use your example always when it comes to judging a man's intentions, but I am not you and would have more than serious trouble dealing with a republican mate (David wasn't a repuke, no matter what he told me).

Hi Aristus! I PMd you, but how did those exams go? I've been sending up good vibes.

15. Thanks for the vibes. crim son.

I'm two hours away from taking my Emergency Med re-test. So I should be studying instead of goofing off... :P

My wife insists on calling herself a Republican, when everything about her pegs her as a right-leaning moderate Democrat. But she grew up around repuke brain-washing, so she's loath to tell the truth about it. She opposes abortion (like not a few Democrats) as well as war and the death penalty, which the Republicans would give her the boot for. So, it's not as tough as if I were married to Ann Coulter or someone. (BTW, Eew, Eew, EEW! :puke: )

He (or she B-) ) is out there. I mean, really, who wouldn't be THRILLED to hook up with YOU? :loveya: It'll happen; and he (or she) will be magnificent...

6. For a woman?
"Gotta"?

I don't think long distance is ideal, but there are a number of examples here on DU where it's worked out. I know for a fact that in Bangor I am TOTALLY SCREWED. Maybe I should look here, at my friends who know and tolerate me!

You know I'm kidding, right? Sorta?

10. If it really feels right distance is just an inconvenience.
Sure you need to overcome that long term. If something really pans out and is lasting someone is going to have to move. But in the beginning, if the feeling is there go for it.

17. Half way across the country or next to you in bed.
The distance is only as far as it feels to the hearts involved.
Love will find a way,If it's there.

18. Stop objectifying people by referring to them by their chromosomes
:P

But on topic, NYC is a quick plane ride from Bangor isn't it? Not so far. It's even within driving range for a meet-someone-halfway rendezvous in Boston. ;)
