So I am at the in-laws. I get up this morning before anyone else, make myself some coffee, and go out to get my "gear" out of our car for a run.
The door is locked. I locked myself out of their house again.
Well I have my stuff but one critical component of pre-run prep is missing-coffee. I remember from the wedding we were at the night before that my father-in-law leaves his truck open so I look in and find some quarters, jump in our car and go to a gas station to get some coffee. I didn't want to knock or call on my cell to wake anyone up. My in-laws are the only old people I know who stay up late and get up after the sun.
So I stretch out (completely change on their back porch-I was quick) but the third vital component of pre-run prep is missing. The "lightening the load" if you know what I mean. Well....what do do. I don't have any extra socks, no running gloves, no dispensable t-shirt....AH! my Father-in-law's truck, sure enough he has some fastfood napkins in there. Tucked in my back pocket I take off. GREAT RUN- on the "greenway" the local community has made (no more Blue Ridge Parkway from now on) seriously top 5 runs anywhere EVER that I have been on. 5 miles round trip.
About 1.5 into it I see an opportunity. There are a lot of people on the greenway on this early Sunday morning but I see a public restroom... but it is locked up. Well.... since I am in the area...and there are woods..... :hurts: :spank:
As I said great run. When I get back everyone is finally up. I come in and tell them about the morning's adventure and my father-in-law says to me "You could have just hit the garage door opener on the visor in my truck"
DRAT THE LUCK. Never thought of that.
