Goddamnit to fucking hell: Another HP laptop issue...
I exchanged my almost brand new HP with a new one less than 24 hours ago.

Now the motherfucking blue ray/DVD player won't work. Any DVD or blue ray disc I put in it comes up as an unsupported format.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.

I am buying a mac. Fuck this bullshit.

1. The model I bought is now $500 cheaper...

with 8 hour battery. :wow:

No regrets buying mine when I did, what with college and all, but no preinstalled crapware (which adds to the registry), no bloated RAM or disk requirements, no real need for Windows emulation (Adobe and other major vendors, even Microsoft Office, support the Mac without the need of crossover, WINE, VMware, parallels, et al), no sodding registry to slow down the machine over time (with cleaning, you still can't compress the empty gaps left behind in the registry file - corruption is inevitable), NTFS...

FYI: The newest ones might support blu-ray. Mine doesn't and I won't likely ever have a need for it.

3. They're just so expensive. A similarly equipped Mac is 600 dollars more than the HP.

2. Never had a moment's trouble with my HP laptop.
I just have a regular DVD player in it however.

4. I love my Mac.
Not a bit of trouble with it so far. I got it in May, and it's already outlasted the Dell that preceded it. :)
