I've been perfecting some awesome recipes
This year I decided to use some of my vacation days to try out some new recipes. If I can't afford to travel, I can always bring other flavors of the world to me.

This summer I have perfected the turkey panini sandwich (it's perfect if you like turkey, garlic hummus, provolone cheese, feta cheese, and pickles). Then I moved onto curries. I modified a red pepper based curry that goes great over tilapia. Today I hit perfection with a coconut shrimp/sweet potato soup I invented and then an onion/lime based curry I mixed with eggplant (although I would live to try it with cauliflower next).

Most of my dishes used to be so-so. But lately my culinary risks have been paying off big time. I used to find a recipe and make it exactly as written, but I have now gotten to the point where I read around 30 similar recipes, and then create something new based on my new knowledge of flavor combinations and techniques. I'm starting to really enjoy cooking.

4. Here's an easy salad dressing
Puree a small cucumber, dill and unsweetened low fat yogurt. Simple, no oil and very refreshing.

5. Awesome.
It's very mediterranean. I bet it'd be amazing on falafel as well.

6. It is
I have been struggling to come up with low fat and low calorie dishes all summer. This is great with pita bread, humus, tomatoes, falafel and lettuce.

8. I'll have to try that panini
or something close to it -- I'd probably make it with some goat cheese rather than feta.

I too like to monkey around with ingredients in the kitchen. It's great fun. :toast:
