What was your first Adult comic book?
Hey, some of us did read comics that weren't strictly superhero stuff

So, the first I owned was probably Omaha the Cat Dancer (the Heavy Metal issues I read previously were bought and owned by one of my brothers, so it doesn't count :P)

After that, probably something by Robert Crumb.
My favorite, I think, was Xxxenophile, by Phil Foglio :D

4. All the R Crumb ZAP & Fritz the Cat

I never had to buy 'em. I had a great friend who owned a head shop. We'd smoke out "in the back" and read all the comics. I worked at the Pizza Man next door and brought all the mistakes over. Interesting times, those.

6. "Love and Rockets"
I've never been a big comics person, but a Northern California person introduced me to Los Bros Hernandez anyways because she thought I was from Oxnard.

7. Heavy Metal Magazine

back cover

My mom brought it for me in a bookstore at The Galleria. I handed it to her and she failed to notice the print on the cover that said "The adult illustrated fantasy magazine" (or the naked breasts in the art for that matter.) She would have freaked! :P

16. lol
:D

Reminds me of how when my brother started getting them in the mail, my mother didn't like having them in the house. She failed to understand we were also liking them for the brilliant stories they depicted. Moebius is just amazing! And Angus McKee (So Beautiful and So Dangerous) :D

10. I always thought Cherry Poptart was such a brilliant parody
on the Archies' world, just by the use of that style of comic art. I wonder how many people picked up copies thinking it was some new Archies character?

14. It must be one of the newer ones, then.
I haven't bought comics in ages, so I'll take your word for it ;)

"Bondage Fairies" is a real one, though :)
