Poll question: Do I have to look?
Edited on Wed Sep-30-09 07:03 PM by NNadir
I just realized that they have a copy of Johannes Stark's "Adolf Hitlers ziele und persönlichkeit" (Adolf Hitler's Aims and Personality) here at Princeton's Firestone Library.

Stark was the Nobel Laureate physicist (who discovered the, um, Stark effect) who was sentenced to prison after the war by de-Nazification courts, and who was responsible for coining the words "Jewish Physics" to disparage the work of Einstein and Bohr.

Knowing that the book is here, I have the feeling that John Lennon described as "I just had to look..."

Should I go downstairs and look for it?

I would hate to be seen reading that thing in German.

3. My dear NNadir...
If I could read German, I'd probably look.

You never know what you might find in such a book...

:hi:

4. Well Peg, I've left the library for the evening, but if I have your OK, I think, I'll look.

I wish I'd realized this in the summer though. The library was dead this summer and one felt one had the whole place - one of the most magnificient libraries in the world by the way - to one's self. That might have been a good time to read it.

Of course there is a good scholarly reason for the library to have this book, but it's definitely weird.
