Rescued another Kitten last night
I was over at my neighbors house having a beer out in his garage last night when a dull white flash caught my eye. The white flash was some sort of critter that ran under my neighbor's 1940 Chevy business coupe. I managed to crawl halfway under the car and retrieve a very dirty and very skinny kitten.

This little kitten is white with a black dot on it's face and a ringed tail. It's totally friendly, wants nothing more than to be picked up and held. She is so relaxed that when you pick her up, it's like picking up a wet rag. I brought it home and the wife and i got to work. We put her in the bathroom while the wife got the kitty carrier and a spare litter box. I prepped the food and water.

This kitten ate and ate and ate and ate some more, and drank all the water that she could get. over the course of 1 hour she ate a whole can of wet food. When i would try to take her empty food bowl away she would bat at my hand and mew a bit. we had to take her collar off because it was extremely tight and filthy.

She finished eating, played for a bit, and promptly fell asleep on top of the tank of the toilet. Overnight it dropped the worst stink bomb i have ever smelled in my life. I mean this was paint peeling, tile buckling, weapons grade kitten poo. Iran doesn't need the atom bomb; they could intimidate anyone in the world with a teaspoon of this stuff. I guess her pipes are cleaning out.

This has to be some kid's pet that they got bored with and the parents kicked it out of the house (i have a pretty good idea what house it came from). You have to be a real self centered dickhead to kick a kitten out of the house so it can fend for itself.

3. not sure yet
the wife and i rescued a year old cat last may and we we found her a good loving home. I'm thinking we will probably do the same. We have 1 border collie and three cats that are all rescued animals and it's kind of a full house right now!

ToddlerMaine-ah wants a kitten badly, but I haven't found one that I like enough yet. The one you found sounds purrr-fect!

She looks a bit like my Angel from those pictures(except Angel didn't have any black spots at all). What a little doll!

11. Than You for Being this Kitty's Guardian Angel
I don't necessarily believe in a god with a white beard but believe the Universe has a way of looking out for the small critters! You might want to get her checked for worms if she has the stinkies

15. yes will do
the wife called and said she has fleas, so i have to pick up some flea soap on the way home. The wife gave her a quick dunk in the sink and a few of them came off. Kitten did NOT like this and is not pleased at this point

12. Totally agree with your last line.
If you can't keep a cat and can't find it a good home at least drop it off at a shelter. Dumping any house cat outside to fend for itself is cruel. Dumping a kitten that way is sadistic.

17. I will do my best!
The last rescue we had went to a fellow DU'er. they had lost their cat of 22 years. The last i heard the new owners have hired a small team of specialists to find new ways to spoil her ;-)

19. Good job!
:)

I am glad you found her and are taking care of her. If you don't keep her I hope you find a great home for her.

What kind of people would do that to a kitten? x(

You said that you have a pretty good idea which neighbors it came from. I bet they are not very good neighbors.

22. total scum
3 kids, the mom is a drug addict and the kids are little punks. I gave it a flea bath tonight and you would not believe the amount of dirt and fleas that came off of her. Kittens and baths are a deadly combination. Have you ever tried peeling a soapy, wet, kitten off of your t-shirt? Dude, let me tell you it's damn near impossible. And painful.

We will find a good home for her, but she's going to the vet first for her shots and a overall checkup.

BTW we have decided to name her Rachael, since we had Rachael Maddow on the tube when we got her in the house ;-)

25. well, that kind of sucks
the kids probably dont have a snowballs chance in hell of making something of themselves in this world, especially if people already call them little punks. I can imagine childhood would be pretty difficult if ones mother were a drug addict.

Nice that you helped the kitten. Hopefully someone else will do something nice for the little punks, as well.

26. i've allready tried to do something for the kids
without going into too many details i have gone above and beyond for that family. The final straw was when one of them shot another kid in the chest with a 10 pump pellet gun at a 15 foot range. The parents saw it and just sat there and laughed. Fortunately the pellet hit a bone in his chest and he didnt have to go to the hospital. the police were called and the parents lied their asses off to protect the little heathens.

I have my limits.
