did I miss something?

I was more struck by this:

"She had last been seen alive by a friend who had escorted her home from a small social gathering and watched her drive into the garage and close the door behind her. Police believed she passed out after she had parked the car but before she turned the engine off. "

Does that indicate that she'd been drinking? That her friend was concerned about her ability to drive? What?

It's not usual to follow each other home.

Just because he has money means nothing. There are rich Democrats as well as republicans. I think anyhow that the "family value" message is more aimed at church going middle class, then the rich.
