Holy crap......a 500 calorie reduction a day can lead to 10 lbs a year???
Is that right??? with that rate, I'll have to wait 4 years to get back to my "smoking weight".....   it sure was a lot more fun putting that weight on.
2. Reducing by 500 calories a day has always been the weight loss method I've used.
My diet is pretty static so my approach would always be to find 500 calories to reduce each day because that is a pound a week. Usually I would lose more than a pound a week.
6. I cut out regular Coke (mostly), and lost about 20 pounds in 4 months without trying.
I stick to Coke Zero whenever I can. I think the stress of starting a new job helped. I've also been doing significantly smaller lunches than I used to.
