17. Japanese do celebrate Valentines day

How ever its the women who give the men chocolates and treats. Many Secretaries give to the boss but, in a month or so is "White Day", this is the day the Men are expected to give Chocolates back to the ladies who gave them Chocolates.

On Valentines day, you are most likely to see Chocolate like this in the shops and there are often long lines of ladies waiting to purchase these for their boyfriends, bosses, and guys who they might like to date:

One year my mom gave dad a large chocolate bass for Valentine's Day. He doesn't fish, but it was a "manly" thing to give, instead of the "girly" chocolate roses, pink lips, and hearts.

3/4 Japanese 1/4 Korean. My Mom is half Korean, half Japanese, and she grew up in New York Ciy. I am not sure if the Koreans follow the Chinese New Year, but from what I read, even China celebrates Jan.1st now, as the New Year, and the Chinese New Year is celebrated for traditon as well as for Cultural events.

Japan has celebrated Jan. 1st since after World War II, and under the US occupation. But, Chinese New Year is a major cultural event for all Chinese who live around the world ..and the USA has some of the best New Year parades right here!

Especially in San Francisco, where this city, Just loves parades and loves to party!
