1. I highly recommend that anyone who has not, READ THE BOOK
on which this is based, American Hero by Larry Beinhart...much, MUCH more pointed than the movie, and it names names in Bush the Elder's administration.

2. don't know about the book..
but the film was intended to be a satire of Clinton and I avoided it entirely...even now when it's on the tube fer-free.

the movie is entirely different. The book is downright scary.

4. Scarier now than when I first saw it
The song about America's borders could easily be used today as the theme song for the Homeland Dept.

The premise of this movie is that if it is on TV, it must be true. How true!
