1. Marc Cohn: "Walking In Memphis"
He doesn't want the album version or official video on YouTube, but this one without a choir is also nice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TLDQdQmk3g

The original is fucking sacred.

12. My band had 8... sometimes 9 musicians in it.
.
Given enough time (and money), my dream was to add a coupla strings (probably
a cello (LOVES me some cello) and a violin, a three-piece horn section (what's
the point of having an all-original musically diverse band if you can't get the
non-dancers up on their feet with some ska?), and three big female gospel
singers in royal purple choir gowns who could sing to the back of the church.
.
Inspired by Bette Midler's backup singers, The Har-lettes -- I would've liked
to have named ours The Strum-Pets.
.
We were pretty damn good.
.
We coulda been fucking AWESOME!!!

( I know I've posted this one by Sister Tharpe on your thread once before, but if just one more person gets turned on to her this way, hopefully you won't mind)

( I know, I should just start my own damn thread....)
