Soccer Goalie Tackles Streaker - Gets Red Card (Tossed Out Of Game)

LONDON (Reuters) - Brian Pritchard thought he was defending more than the goal when he tried to spare spectators' blushes by tackling a streaker who disrupted a local soccer match.

The off-duty policeman's decision to take the law into his own hands went unrewarded, however, when he instead found himself sent off for violent conduct.

Down to 10 men, Pritchard's Witton Albion side went on to lose the Cheshire Senior Cup Final 2-1 to rivals Woodley Sports Wednesday. Albion said it is appealing the referee's decision.
