Virginia Commonweath University on fire!!!!!
My old alma mater.

It seems a parking deck blew up with the new bookstore. It also took out a few cars. It is getting kinda dark outside now.

Thick gray and black clouds covered the Fan and academic campus of Virginia Commonwealth University just after noon today as a fire broke out at the corner of West Broad and Shaffer streets.

Fires were also reported in buildings two-and-a-half to three blocks away. Smoke and flames could be seen coming from several row houses north of Broad Street as 13-knot winds pushed the flames. Three or four units in the 1100 block of Clay Street had flames coming out of them.

Fire units from Chesterfield and Henrico counties were called to the scene, according to a city spokesperson. Ambulances were on the scene, but there were no immediate reports of injuries.

4. I was going to make a smart remark about not overreacting BUT....
apparently VCU really is on fire. I just talk to someone who had just come by there and the new dorm that was being built (where the Hardee's used to be) was engulfed and it is spreading or has spread to other buildings.

Time for old Richmonders to start commiserating on "The great fire of 19 and __" and reminisce on the leveling of Richmond by the Yankees....seriously they will.
