Poll question: What if your Soulmate was a Freeper?
In other words, you totally connected on every level, physical attraction, values, kids or no kids, but this...person...loved the Shrub?

Reminds me of the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" finale.

12. Agreed.
I don't even understand how freepers function. Their minds areso alien to me that I couldn't communicate with them.

For example, how Carville and Matalin don't kill each other is beyond me.

33. Exactly. There's no footing when your SO/spouse thinks your "evil"
How in the hell can you have a stable relationship if your partner or spouse is a right-winger? You would have *no* respect for them, and they would be hating you for whatever the transgression-du-jour was for liberals.

Besides, it's more fun to bag on the right wing together -- my wife and I do it all the time! :toast:

Well, maybe not a Freeper, but definitely a Republican. But when it came down to it, we believed the same things 90% of the time. She was just too damned stubborn about the other 10%, such as failing to see the evil of the Bush Criminal Empire.

We're no longer together, but politics had nothing to do with it :evilfrown:

I have some conservative friends (not Freepers, conservatives). I genuinely like them, but that's because I only see them in small doses. I couldn't go home to one. Impossible.

PS - I like how the spell check wants to change "Freepers" to "Creepers". :D

although I did have a Rep bf in high school - he wanted to work for the CIA and everything. But he took too many drugs ( and was a little kinky too, at least for high school)that he couldn't get in. Probably for the best. So. Don't know if he's still a Rep or not.

Loving Shrub is a sure sign that he would be way too far down on the awareness scale to be even remotely compatible with me, no matter what he looked like. We could not possibly share the same values based on this alone.

Happily married to a thoughtful left of center type now.

Nothing is worth that hell. NOTHING. Not great sex (never had it with them anyway), not money, not even otherwise an exceptional personality.

about repukes and sex, why is it that repuke men just aren't that great in bed at all (and I know that from experience, lol!)? I NEVER had great or even good sex with repuke men.

Wouldn't know about repuke women, though, maybe some of you guys who've had the misfortune to be with repuke gals could enlighten us?

40. I couldn't do it
Not because they're a freeper, but because politics is just too important to me. I talk about it, I go to protests, I volunteer for campaigns, I am idealistic. Someone above said "Its just politics." Thats what I thought before I went to a conservative Catholic school for two years. I realized it wasn't just politics for me, its part of my mindset, part of the way I think and react. I'm not sure I would get past the first few dates, much less to the point where I could consider them my 'soul mate.'

8 years, and that wasn't even what led to our relationship's demise. That's fine though. I don't let politics absorb my life to the point of eliminating good sex. :p

I'm just kidding. Actually though, my current girlfriend likes the worse music, and it's harder to deal with than my ex's politics.
