Too Hot for Citibank? Woman sues for being fired over attractiveness
OK, she is pretty damn hot... see pics at the link, including a slideshow.
>>

...Citigroup, an employer of a very lovely Latina woman terminated her for displaying her sufficient assets at a midtown financial institution.

The voluptuous Debrahlee Lorenzana claims that her ex-employers at the Citibank brank in the Chrysler Building forbade her to wear sexy garments or high heels because they distract her male colleagues.

“I can not help it that I’m curvacious,” she told reporters for The NY Daily News.

“And I am not about to go overeat to gain fifty to one hundred pounds simply because my employer wants me to be like everyone else.”

The 33-year-old Queens beauty filed a law suit in the Manhattan Supreme Court. She alleges that she has been directed to rerfrain from turtlenecks, pencil skirts and tailored suits for the reason that clingy garments were attracting an excessive amount of attention on the job.

Her attorney, Jack Tuckner said, “Debrahlee Lorenzana might possibly be very appealing anything she wears.” Jack Tuckner works for Tuckner Sipser Weinstock & Sipser.

3. am loving some of the comments:
Sounds like she might be very modest also.
The whole “it cant be because I suck at my job, it must be because Im so beautiful” just doesnt sound like a valid arguement.
Maybe shes so used to being babied her entire life because of her looks she cant accept failure. Possibly dressing like a whore isnt appropriate in Citis offices.
Dress how they tell you to, they pay you, so what if you claim to be into fashion. Which do you like more fashion or your job?

It’s not unreasonable for a business to tell employees to cover their fake boobs. Who would wear such skin tight clothing at work unless they were trying to get a man to notice big boobs. I don’t think that male employees found her attire too distracting, I think they found her too gross! Gak, tranny face.

playboy call her now!!!

Citibank in Surat (Gujarat) India, needs more accounts opening from new clients and this is the best place to employ her as the bank shall be flooded with new accounts if she handles the a/c opening formalities. It is sad that they did not transfer her to Surat citibank.

Does that mean a somewhat masculine woman's face? I don't get that impression of her face.

5. when you buy a set of breasts, typically it is to attract attention
the problem is that it doesn't attract the best attention and it can be a distraction in an office place especially if the woman in question is on the prowl and perhaps trying to find someone to pay the bills.

The same goes for men. I have worked in offices where attractive men have created problems and it backfires on them too. Sleeping your way through the office staff can create a hostile atmosphere.

can't wear the kind of clothes she is wearing in those pictures without a suitable bra.

She isn't even wearing a bra in some of those photos and yet she is defying gravity, I would bet money on the fact she had them professionally tweaked.

29. She's wearing a very sheer underwire bra.
I had that problem and had to start wearing pasties under my bras, then just said what the heck and started wearing ones with a bit more padding.

I guess she is not uncomfortable with the attention. I remember the first time I took off my uniform jacket and walked around in my t-shirt (air force), never again. I didn't care how hot it got, just never took off the cami uniform top off again. I was young and the idea of my older supervisor's supervisor looking at my chest grossed me out.

The white suit with the lace is a little too mother of the bride, everything else okay...

25. Why does her having large breasts suggest that she's "on the prowl"?
Seems to me that if she were herself engaging in harassing behavior she'd have been discharged for that.

As far as distracting appearance precluding getting work done goes, I'm personally much more distracted by combovers and hair plugs than by boobs, as I have a hard time working while giggling nervously. Since I'm sure I'm not the only one, I think it's reasonable to expect Shittibank to discharge all male employees who have engaged in pitiably bad hair decisions immediately.

7. Looks like she might have grounds for a sex discrimination suit against Shittybank
Even if she wins her case, if I were she, I wouldn't go back to working for a bunch of sexist assholes who are nothing but jealous of her God-given beauty. I guess Shittybank is going to lose quite a few clients.

Any bets her son is going to grow up to be a hunk destined to be hounded by young women?

Edited on Fri Jun-04-10 11:51 AM by Crystal Clarity
Since when are turtlenecks and pencilskirts not appropriate in the business world? I see tons of women wearing them. The article I read on this story the other day sounded alot different then this one... I got the impression that the men were 'distracted' by her appearance. How is it her fault that the men have a problem staying on task? What is she supposed to do, wear a Burkha?

Editted to add: 'with that POV' in subject line... :scared:

8. this is just another legacy of America's puritan past....
Sexuality is part of the human experience. Attractive men and women attract the notice-- and the attention-- of people attracted to them. That's normal human behavior, with an emphasis on NORMAL. The woman in the OP is drop-dead gorgeous. Kudos to her gene pool, with will likely produce sons and daughters with equally lovely features, who will attract others in their turn some day. I mean, this is just what people do. It's normal behavior.

It only becomes a problem when we treat it as abnormal, or undesirable behavior-- or when we act out inappropriate responses. Taking every opportunity to hump her leg in the elevator is an inappropriate response, of course, but pretending that people won't react to her beauty is equally inappropriate. The key, I think, is to remember that in professional settings, one must behave professionally-- but that does not preclude an increase in pulse rate whenever a hot colleague is in close proximity. It simply CANNOT, unless we stop being human.

Based on all this hoo-haw, I was expecting a slit all the way up her thigh, fishnets, and stilettos. Take a hike, Citi, or better still, pay her some of your TARP money to settle her lawsuit.

22. The clothes from the various pictures
seem perfectly reasonable for an office setting - she just fills them out rather well. I think her office has the problem and not her - I've worked with a few women in her league figure-wise over the years and I don't recall any major problems. (Granted, most of them were not as pretty as her, but there were one or two)

28. My dad's 2nd wife was a very attractive...
...and much younger woman. Face, meh...she didn't break mirrors, but she had a GREAT body and long lovely hair.

Dad was so proud when he told the story about how she'd been asked to stop wearing dresses and switch to slacks because one of the bosses had walked into the doorjamb while swivelnecking and staring at her going down the hall...
:wow:
Clunked himself pretty good...and it was ALL HER FAULT.

34. If her claim is legitimate
it's something she has every right to sue over. However, I would imagine in a large public company like Citibank, they have procedures in place that managers would follow to limit a company's liability in this situation. They likely have a process where she was warned about her performance and/or attire first. Granted, from the pictures her attire is perfectly fine... but, they may have documentation/proof of clothes that are not office appropriate.

35. Somehow I think there's another side to this story we are not hearing
Her comments lead me to believe she is only attractive on the outside, if even that.

Even without those comments her story would be hard to believe. With them I'm inclined to believe there was probably a good legal reason why she was canned.
