Popular New Drinking Game Raises Question, Who’s ‘Icing’ Whom?

NO sooner had Alex Rospos arrived from Los Angeles for a Memorial Day weekend on the Jersey Shore than he witnessed, and fell victim to, his first prolonged session playing what has become the nation’s biggest viral drinking game, otherwise known as “icing.”

It began six hours after he arrived — “I iced a friend at lunch,” he said — but really took off at a barbecue around the family pool in Belmar the next day. “There have been over 20 icings so far,” Mr. Rospos, a 25-year-old aerospace engineer said, a beer cozy carrying a warm bottle of Smirnoff Ice clipped to the back of his belt with a carabiner. “You have to watch yourself.”

The premise of the game is simple: hand a friend a sugary Smirnoff Ice malt beverage and he (most participants have been men) has to drink it on one knee, all at once — unless he is carrying a bottle himself, in which case the attacker must drink both bottles of what Mr. Rospos described as a “pretty terrible” drink

Who thinks up this crap (ok other than the obvious - the makers of Smirnoff Ice, which btw is a nasty-ass tasting drink!)

1. Are you allowed to simply smash the fucking bottle of ooze over the attacker's head?
Now THAT would be a cool drinking game!

The basic rules would be okay if the substance in question qualified as a beverage. That shit does not.

3. Beer pong
is the current "in" drinking game around these parts. Back in my HS days, it was a board game called 'Pass Out'.

5. I remember playing "Pass out" as a kid but with water and not beer
For some bizarro reason my church youth group had an antiquated copy of the game Passout in it's collection of games. Odd game choice but mind you we were pretty progressive for christians. About every 2 months our youth group would host "Rock-athons" where we would sitting in rockers for 24 hours and solicit fundraising money by pledges for how many hours we would rock in our chairs. It was an excuse to stay up 24hrs straight.

We would always play Passout at those rock-athons but with water. Of course that means we'd all have to go piddle like crazy and since we pledged to only leave our chairs ever 4 hours - it got to be pretty tough.

What  kids we were
