I heard someone use the phrase "homosexual agenda" today, totally without irony.

I've been doing some canvassing for a city council canditate, and today, I was dropping off flyers in an apartment building. I was paired up with another guy, and we ran into someone who lived in the building. He asked us what we were canvassing for, and we explained that we were volunteering with a local city council candidate. He then asked what she stood for, and after we explained some of her beliefs, he asked "What's her sexual orientation?"

She's actually gay, and I got involved with the campaign because I'm a friend of her girlfriend's, but I wasn't going to tell him that. The guy I was canvassing with said "Uh, I don't know. I'm just a volunteer."

Apartment guy then said "Because, you know, the homosexuals have their own agenda."

The other volunteer and I waited until the guy walked away and burst out laughing. Really, I don't know if I'm more horrified or amused.
