DU IT people-a question
I can give an AOL-IM username when editing my DU profile. My question is, is this only for AOL users or can I give my Windows Messenger username instead?

(I don't have AOL, btw.)

I tried posting this on the Ask the Administrators forum, but no one over there knew.

1. No.
AIM and MSN are two completely different programs. If you want to use the same user name for AIM, you have to try to set it up that way and hope that no one else has already taken that name.

3. Sorry...
However, there is a cool program that keeps all your different instant messaging programs in one nice, neat place. It's called Trillian and you can get it for free here: http://www.trillian.cc/downloads/

There is a pay version that has more features, but I've been very happy using the free version.

4. I use trillian too!:-)
It had a bumpy ride for a while, with AOL and Yahoo changes causing some bugs, but it has been very stable for months now. So, I think I will finally pay for the upgrade. I just didn't want to buy it until I was sure it would be worth it. It's great not having to run 4 programs to chat with people on different sysytems.
