I had a DU-themed dream last night
Edited on Wed Oct-06-10 09:10 AM by RZM
It went like this:

Though I live in Columbus, OH (I moved here about 6 weeks ago), in this dream I lived in the same apt. but it was located in central New Jersey. So I was perusing DU and came across a post by a user named 'Grover_NYC' -- the post was a large, hi-res picture of a street in Manhattan, with a few stores and upstairs apartments but no text. For some reason, I thought it was part of some sort of scavenger hunt and I was supposed to go to the street and find something there, so I went to NY and located the street from the photo. Somehow, I managed to make my way into Grover_NYC's apartment and immediately noticed it was kind of a hipster pad (bikes, lots of vinyl, etc.). I realized that I wasn't supposed to be there but as I was leaving, the tenant came home. He immediately addressed me by my real name and I asked how he knew that -- he said he recognized my face from DU (odd, cause there are no pictures of me here nor have I alluded to my real name). But he was pretty cool about it all and invited me to hang with him -- I found out his real name was 'Grover Cuomo' and some of his friends came over and we all hung out. They were all stereotypical hipsters -- educated, white, late 20s, with beards.

So then I'm back home and waking up (apparently this was a dream within a dream) and I realized I had dreamt the trip to NYC and the interaction with Grover. So I went on DU and found the same post. For some reason I decided to go back to the apt. anyway and knock on the door. Nobody was home, but once again as I was leaving, Grover showed up and said hi, again addressing me by my real name. I asked how he knew that and he said 'we met yesterday, when you came over.' I then made a joke about Inception, saying that I was having trouble telling dreams from reality, which nobody found funny. I could tell that he was clearly annoyed that I was back at his place so soon. He invited me to hang but I could tell he was only doing so out of politeness. I stood around awkwardly for a while and then went home, ashamed that I had bothered him and worn out my welcome.
