DFW area - I rescued a dog I saw get hit by a car last night

I'm in the DFW area -

She's going to be ok - no broken bones. it's a miracle.

she's maybe a year or two - desperately hungry and dehydrated.
will need to be socialized, but is so sweet I can't even tell you.
looks like she got off a lead, and was tied up somewhere. no chip, duh.
will be on pain meds for a couple of days and will need primary care within a week. she's got nasty skin condition.
they gave her something to get rid of the fleas, but she still needs shots/fixing, etc...will need a check for worms for sure.

I can't keep her, but I will need to find her a home.

Will post pics later, but I'm on my way to pick her up from the doggie ER.

I will drive outside of the DFW area if necessary.

23. My ex and i witnessed a lab getting hit by a car

a lesbian couple loaded him up and took him straight to the vet. We ran into the owner of the dog a block later, we told her where her dog went.

5. One of our rescue dogs was 6 when we got her, had been kept in a cage in a garage all her life, did

not know how to use stairs, and would scream in her sleep. Some people should never have dogs (or kids) and some who have dogs and mistreat them should be in prison.

My aunt is chipping in some money for the vet bill, and getting some of her friends to throw some cash my way.
Won't cover it all, but it sure does help.

OMG the ER doctor and overnight stay is crazy expensive.

I was afraid she might bight, but she's as gentle as a mouse.

Have you tried the Pets Group ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=243 ) or the Texas Group ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=180 )?

The Lounge gets way more traffic than both combined, but you might find someone local or with specialty knowledge about rescues there.
