5. Mine used to do something similar.

She'd take my dirty socks from the laundry basket downstairs and bring them up and place them outside my bedroom door at night.

I know she meant it nice, but it's hard to take "I brought you one of your socks because it smells like a dead mouse" as a compliment.

She'd take a dirty sock, prance through the house with it in her mouth, and drop in her water dish.

2. We had a feral B&W kitteh, I used to feed.

He wouldn't let me get near him, but he used to call me if I was late with his food. He slept on the porch, in a cardboard box filled with old clothes that I had intended to give to Goodwill. Your boy looks like a real sweetie.
