Walking Dead, Season 2 speculation/rumors (spoilers)
Edited on Tue Dec-07-10 09:21 AM by NewJeffCT
"The Walking Dead" has drawn its first season to a close after only six episodes, but if you're worried about not getting your zombie fix for the next several months, don't fret — after all, the show is based on a comic book, so there's plenty of material to enjoy while "Walking Dead" is off the air. But in terms of the show itself, it's going to take some time for Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal and the rest of the acclaimed cast to resurface on your TV set.

That said, we already have some ideas about where "Walking Dead" is headed for season two, thanks to comments from the production team and our own suspicions based on the comic books. Check out our predictions for season two after the jump!

Growing Closer
In "TS-19," Dale managed to convinced Andrea to resist the urge to end it all, successfully leading her away from the self-destructing CDC and back on the road with their peers. Now that the whole gang is together at the outset of season two, we're excited to see these folks grow even closer, particularly Dale and Andrea — but given the high death rate in the land of "The Walking Dead," we're stopping short of expecting happy endings for anyone in the cast.

And, while I think Zoe Saldana is hot as hell, she is a movie star, so I don't think would move to AMC for a weekly TV series to play Michonne. I could see Gina Torres from Serenity/Firefly, as she has already shown she can play a tough ass-kicking woman.

1. Tough ass kicking women
is one of the things missing from this series. I'm so sick of seeing the women
cowering behind the men during an attack.

I've been trying hard not to read any of the spoilers from the comic series, but
based on the little I've heard, if they stay true to the original story season 2 is
going to be outstanding.

I want to see Merle show up, if he hasn't already, if you know what I mean.
For some reason don't think we've seen the last of Jim. Just hoping Morgan
and his son or the family that took off on their own don't turn back and run
into him now that he's reanimated.

Something about this series is so relevant to the times in which we find ourselves.
The zombies are like a metaphor for so many other things that could go terribly
wrong in the world we're living in.

Lot's of holes in the story I could pick apart but for the most part I'm just loving
this series and it such a surprise to find the zombies genre so fascinating.

Heard the book to read until season 2 gets here is World War Z. Need to check that out.

2. I'm going to pick up World War Z soon as well
but, just got issues 1-48 of The Walking Dead graphic novel to keep me occupied.

From reading the first few issues, I don't recall much in the way of strong women in the graphic novel, either.

Other than the trek to the CDC, the series has been fairly close to the graphic novel at first glance - no Merle/Daryl in the graphic novel, though.
