I won't kill them, but the cats will. It is just alarming when a B-52 heads straight toward you. Damn those bugs are loud when they fly!

4. No, barn stormed. They just come in low and fly over on their way to crash into the monitor, wall,
etc.

3. Now I know why my cats have bad breath
They hunt and kill them when they see one. I don't have stink bugs anymore; my window is closed for the winter.

6. Pole lamps work well as an exterminator. We've got lots of
those things this year (the likes of which we've been blessed not to see the last 3 years). But they all head for a pole lamp within a day or two, and that's the end. Just have to keep wiping them out.

7. Our cats won't go near them. They will watch them buzz around at a distance,
but that's about it.

8. We have a few here, too (Northern Virginia) -- wasn't sure if they
were just hardy hold-overs from the summer, or a fresh batch o' bugs.

I don't mind them. I think they're kinda cute. The cats leave them alone, too. I have no problem with bugs (except for poisonous biting kinds, which I'll put outside if them happen inside, with the exception of killers like black widows and brown recluses who meet with the sole of a shoe if they're discovered). But I digress.

I just wish they weren't so catastrophic for crops. Otherwise, I'd say, let the stink bugs be.

9. Don't worry--once you detox, they go away...
...along with the ones slithering on the ceiling, under your skin, etc.

14. Don't get those here...but I do get lady bug attacks.
Not nearly as cute as it may sound. We get them a couple times of year here. Hordes of slow moving lady bugs. Freaky. :)

15. We had one of those in New Hampshire eleven or so years ago - amazing.
I took a mail sorting unit (7' tall) to the house of the guy who bought it at our garage sale. The inside of his garage door was COVERED in lady bugs - every square mm of it. I wouldn't even attempt to guess how many of them were there. The things were swarming. And this was like January or so - WTF is up with that?

16. Weird isn't it? We get them in the winter if a warm snap occurs.
We've been here about 7 years now, and just about twice a year, every year, its lady bug central. This is a new development, and I also assumed it was some sort of secret ladybug spawning ground. :P

17. I was in a tank top when I had that yard sale. We were preparing to move to PA and sold a lot.
Tank top in January in New Hampshire? WHAT THE FUCK???? Apparently the lady bugs thought it was a good time to swarm. I still wonder if it didn't cause a massive reduction in population the following season, but I wasn't there to find out.

18. Sounds like they hatched during the warm snap...just like they do here.
Tank top in January? So bizarre.
I'm in east TN, and am seeing extremes in weather often. It's either unseasonably warm or bitterly cold. Mother nature is sure getting pushed around a bit.

19. Yeah, but what's REALLY funny is that we had an 8' pile of snow in the center of the court!
Yeah, it was warm, but it had been something like five below the week before.

Yawp. I've had snow on the ground and a swarm, if it warmed up enough.
Poor lil ladybugs.
