why am I having such a hard time with the security measures when . . .
. . . trying to create a new gmail account?

You know where you have to enter the squiggly letters? I KNOW I am entering them correctly, yet it keeps saying my answer doesn't match! It's killing me, man.

What do I have to do?!

Am I the only one who's encountered this?

1. Sometimes they're case sensitive
Extra security or not, I'd rather do without it myself.

3. My credit union's website security is a real pain
Not only do they make it hard for anyone to log in, they make it equally as hard for its own members. If I check my account the night before at home, then check the account the next day from a computer at work there's a whole five minute security verification routine you have to go through and you can't opt out of it.

4. There's a much easier way to fight spam
simply place an entry field in a place where a human can't see it. Then, when the spambot dutifully fills it in, it's busted.

Why don't more coders do this?

5. I'd start over again. Perhaps you get different squiggles.
