The dog just... (Warning-disgusting)
Edited on Thu Dec-09-10 05:08 AM by Crystal Clarity
vomited a minute ago and before I had a chance to clean it up, he ate it. Maybe the cat vomit he ate before bed is not agreeing w/him?

Yay! Now I can put away the unused roll of paper towels and garbage bag (again). Thanks Jimmy-D! :yoiks:

That is all. :hide:

1. Well since you went here
My dog likes to visit the litter box for 'treats'. It wouldn't be so bad but he leaves the breading all about.

2. Oh man... What is out about dogs and all-thing-gross?
My dog can't get to the litter box because he's a wimp about going down the cellar stairs. However, I've caught him eating his own poopsicles. Blah!!!

He's an 120lb German Shepherd and goes through $50 bags of vet-recommended Eukanuba every 3-4 weeks, so it's definitely not a hunger issue. Maybe a behavioral thing?

3. hiding it
Dogs will do that. If they can't stomach re-eating it, they'll try to cover it up with whatever of your stuff they find handy. Personally, I'd prefer they ate it.

My dog just did this early today. Jostled himself a bit too much bounding down the stairs after eating and had a little bit of surpise vomit. By the time I got the cleaning implements of destruction he'd already "cleaned" it quite well himself.

Blah.

4. He's "magical!"

If you've never read it, I suspect you would appreciate it well now after this little experience of yours. http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/

10. +1 That was also what first came to my mind "I'm magical!"
A perpetual food-making machine!

I've read that several of times and it has not yet ceased to be hysterical each time.

12. LOL - glad I'm not alone
I laugh every time.

It doesn't hurt that my poor sweet dog looks (and often acts) just like "Simple dog". I'm serious. She's brilliant and adorable but both my husband and I were crying in recognition reading this blog...

17. Same here! OMG too funny!
Last night my son and I did those dog IQ tests (from her other story about the simple dog). We were cracking up watching her try to figure out where the cookie under the cup was! LOL. After we finally showed her the first time, then she got it right away every time after.

Our dog even has that "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" down.

5. My dog used to eat his own poo and then barf it up again.
He also loved going through the bathroom trash for used tampons.

7. My dog does that with #2.
I try to get to it before she does, but when she has her "accidents," she's pretty quick to get rid of the evidence.

We did get something to put in her food that would supposedly deter her from doing this, but she just picked at her food so we stopped it. (That may be how the stuff works, I don't know.)

It's gross, but I chalk it up to what some dogs do. I can't get into her little doggie brain to figure out why, nor do I particularly want to.

13. I had to clean some poop off the rug this morning.
SOMEBODY didn't let the dog out.

speaking of dumb dogs, my youngest son is working for a landscaping company. Their current job is removing the work they did a year or two ago at some rich folks' pad - they had put in a pool and yard for their dog (yes - it has its own bedroom too). Originally it had a grassy area and a gravel area. They are removing the gravel area because the dog eats rocks. Apparently it hat had innumerable trips to the vet for x-rays and stomach problems and at least a couple surgeries to remove rocks and gravel.

I thought we had a dumb dog (in fact his in-house name is Dumbass) but "Carson" is certainly dumber!

16. How do you think the mama wolf brings food to her cubs?
Or how pack members bring food to an individual who can't hunt? It's gross to us, but it's actually pretty normal for canids to carry food in the stomach and then barf it up to feed another family member.
