11. I kind of agree with that, although it's not really his faith that gets picked on.

I think it's more that he has an arrogance about his faith, as though he's more special because of what he believes, or that the God he believes in loves him more than other people. Some of the lampooning is more about that attitude than about his faith.

But I still agree with you. Belief should be, so to speak, sacred.

Now, that whole Gomer Pyle image he's got going, THAT's fair ground. :)
