My youngest leaves the house well before daylight to go to his landscaping job. This morning we discovered he had left his lunch on the table, which means he grabbed a half loaf of sourdough bread instead.
I am enjoying the pitiful vision of my boy in his ratty coat and his old cranberry jug of water and his loaf of peasant bread, waiting in the dark to go dig ditches and spread gravel all day.
2. More filling than what is lunch for many "field" workers -- a handful of corn tortillas...
. . . . . ...and MUCH more than I had for lunch sometimes during my younger lean years (as opposed to these... my AGED lean years). . . . . . . . . OK, OK... that WOULD suck -- expectations vs what's behind bag #1... ... ... ... sour D'OH reality. . . . . . Do NOT thank him for the tasty lunch he left for you today. . . . . . Just DON'T. . . . Trust me on that. . . .
do you think they would have survived (or stayed around this long) if they couldn't handle my sarcastic humor? (thanks for tip on how to greet him when he gets home! )
