I was the victim of a very strange car accident this afternoon
I went down to a Philadelphia suburb to visit my friend. At about 3:35 PM this afternoon, about 1/2 mile before I got to her house, I decided to pull over into the parking lot of a car/scooter/ATV/boat dealership to give her a call to let her know I was almost there.

No sooner did I get off the phone with her did I discover that some guy in a van hit a boat on a trailer parked on a high embankment. The guy hit the boat, which ended up bouncing off the top of the hood of my car and into the corner where the fence and wall met. I got out of the car to assess the damage: left headlights and turn signal lights completely blown out; grille smashed into pieces; hood badly dented; front end smashed. Thank God no one got hurt; I was just shaken up and nervous from being three feet from certain injury. There were at least 2 other witnesees to the crash.

The police, fire department, and ambulance were on the scene just in case there were injuries; no injuries, just damage to three cars and a boat! The cop who took the report informed me that the man who caused the accident fell asleep at the wheel; he got a bunch of tickets.

I think it's a blessing in disguise because I've been having car trouble from the day I got the car. This is the second time this year that I've been involved in a car accident through no fault of my own.

2. My car still runs
I just can't drive it at night. Plus, on my way back home, I heard the sound of the remaining debris from the accident falling off my car. In addition, I don't think I can pop the hood open. I have to call my insurance agent first thing Monday.

5. Your own agent helps out
It's in the interest of his company, and you as a customer, to get the other guy's insurance to pay.

3. Man, that's like one of those creepy Final Destination movies.
How random.

Take care of yourself. We are amazingly fragile.

A friend of mine's wife was over at a neighbor's house feeding their cats while they were on vacation.

When she was done, she walked out into the backyard where her kids were messing around. She heard a loud cracking noise and pushed her boys away yelling for them to run.

A large tree in the yard next door fell onto her after smashing through the fence. She is paralyzed from the waist down after her back was broken.

You just never know.

7. At least you can now shock your friends and coworkers
by telling they you were hit by a boat.

Sorry about the accident. Glad you weren't hurt.
