I never cared about the celebrity inside stuff in People magazine and it's clones. But I saw a bunch of them on the magazine rack and was depressed at the "celebrities" on the covers. I remember when they had real celebrities, movie and TV stars, political figures and athletes on the books. Now it's Heidie and Kim and Kendra and Lauren and Bethany and Bachelor and Survivor cast offs. People with no real claim to fame except someone put their dysfunctional lives on a cable TV show. I do understand how some one enjoys the "behind the screen" peek in these things, even if it doesn't interest me. But the level of people who now seem to attract the readers are of astonishingly little consequence. Our culture reaches ever lower lows.
