And I join the ranks of the unemployed...
Just had my last day in the Air Force...so now I'm just another unemployed civilian. I've been out looking for jobs, but haven't heard anything yet.

Any advice? For those that are unemployed here...how do you manage your finances?

1. Is college in your future?
Most campuses have a military matriculation program. Sometimes they have
an inside on part-time jobs within the community.

Anyway...good luck and have fun out here in this side of the wild blue yonder.

5. Go through the telephone book and get a list of places where you want to work.
Call each place and get the address and the name of the human resources manager. Do a huge mail merge and send in your resume to all. Be prepared to wait a while until a job opens up. This will get you into the hidden job market because sometimes businesses will not advertise for a job opening. Good luck.

6. Didn't the base have any sort of civilian employment assistance?
Most used to have some kind of program whereby you can get an idea before you go off active duty of employment opportunities in your area. Maybe not anymore, I don't know.

Good luck!
