Strange conversation I had recently. Apparently my friends sister only gives her kids 1 "Santa" gift while all the rest come from her and her husband. Her explanation is she doesn't want Santa getting the credit. What is that??? I have never heard of this. Not religious reasons either. For myself, I just wanted to see the excitement, and hear my child's stories on how he managed to bring all the stuff. It was kind of depressing when the whole thing was over years later. Is this a certain personality thing??? I am baffled.
1. we always had some from mom and dad and some from Santa
but I think that was when we were older. Never thought about it in terms of "credit." It may be that they can get "credit" when they are older and the kids are grown up! :D
she cares about them and puts effort into giving them some joy. I don't see the negative in that. We all want our kids to know we love them, and giving thoughtful gifts is one way we express that.
