In honor of the season, let's all join hands and recite the Chevy Chase Christmas Vacation Rant.

Hey. If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Frank Shirley, my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is. Hallelujah. Holy shit. Where's the Tylenol?

1. Believe it or not, I've never seen that movie.

On Edit: Wait, maybe I have. Is that the one where the cat leaves an explosion stain on the carpet after biting the tree lights and he just moves a chair over it to hide the spot? That one also involved the term "mountain oysters". If that's the same movie, then yes I did see it a long fucking time ago.

2. That's the one
It's on my short list of Christmas movies that I still actually watch.

I can't handle the traditional, sentimental ones any more...although this one has a sentimental underbelly.

3. Then I did, a long time ago. Short list? "Nightmare Before Christmas", "Christmas Eve on Sesame St
"Miracle on 34th St." (George C. Scott), and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (animated version).

5. There are so many classic quotes from that movie!
I love it. The kids and I watch it every single year, it's the one hard and fast tradition that we stick to - "Christmas Vacation" on Christmas Eve.

"Squirrel!"

Cracks me up every time!

7. The appeal of this movie
is that at least one of the endless string of mishaps has happened to all of us at one time or another.

Chevy Chase in his prime.
