I used to laugh at that. Well for those of us So Cal people who live in the mountains outside of L.A., it might be true by the end of the day.
Normally, there are 6 lanes leading up and down the mountain. Three up, three down. As of this morning, four of those lanes are closed and will remain closed until at least Wednesday, possibly Thursday and maybe even longer than that. By the end of the day, the one two-lane road that is open is likely to close. The only good thing about that is it will keep the citiots (flatlanders) off of the boulevard for a couple of days. No car hockey until all the roads up the mountain are open. It's almost like Skiers have never heard of snow chains. Those that DO bring them are as likely to stop in the middle of the boulevard to put them on as they are to pull into a parking lot to do it. Gotta love 'em.
Here's a link to my satellite weather picture. We're right above the "a" in San BernArdino, off to the three o'clock side of the center. That yellow/orange/red streak has been there since SATURDAY. Yesterday we got 5" of rain! Woohoo!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go up on the roof and clean the DirecTV dish
for the third time today. WooFuckingHoo.
