OK. Trivia question for all of you Janis Joplin fans...........
In her LIVE version of "Ball and Chain" - you might remember...when she starts to talk towards the end? (Do realize that I write this from memory so it might not be entirely correct...)

She says in part:

I don't understand why HALF the world is crying man....when the other half of the world is STILL crying too man, and we can't get it together....

Say, say, say maybe you want to count for 365 days a year - right? Well, we ain't got 365 days a year - we've got it for one day man..and I tell you - that ONE DAY MAN...better be your life man.... (little hooting and hollerin from the audience....) because, you know, you can say naw man...and CRY about the other 364 days....but you gonna lose that one day man and that's all you've got man - You've gotta call that love man.....because that's what it is man...because we don't need it!

Because as a MATTER OF FACT as we "discovered on the train".....tomorrow never happens, man.......It's all the same fu**ing day man..........(she kind of knowingly chuckles here...)

So when ya - when ya want to hold somebody...you gotta hold them like its the LAST minute of your life man. You better hold - hold - hold - hold etc...

Do you know what train she was talking about here????

Took me over 20 years+ to figure this one out! 20 years!!!!!!

Janis was talking about Einstein's special theory of relativity and the example used in the train experiment with the pocket watch!!!!

Yep.

Welp.

Go figure.

Joplin was ahead of her time in more ways than one - for sure!!!!!!!!! :-)

May she always R.I.P.

2. My thought exactly.
Although that trip alone might have proven the theory.

Oddly wonderful movie about Marilyn Monroe (theoretically) meeting Albert Einstein and explaining it to him, just so he'd know she understood.
