Have any big sports fans dropped cable here?

I don't see any need for Cable TV, except more sports going to cable like the BCS (Bowl Cash Series) games since they can generate more $ on cable from rising subscriber fees that are passed on to customers for channels they never watch like The Golf Channel. Even if you ave MLB.TV, you can't see your home team (at least not without a going through a proxy server).

1. I have dropped but am not a big sports fan. However

depending upon which sport one is most into there are more options every day. I tested the NHL Gamecenter on the roku device recently. If one likes hockey it is a pretty good deal. They have MLB also.

I have heard rumors another major sport involving rather tall individuals may make an appearance before too long.

It may be a while before ESPN proper comes to internet tv but it will happen someday.

The good news is the providers are noticing that cable droppers is cost them customers. HBO has already made some rumbles about bypassing cable. Once a few of the major players jump the rest will follow.
