Somehow it manages to "rise above" iykwim, though I confess the car scene with the girl is what tends to stick in my mind. Must be my unconscious talking.

A thief dressed as Santa Claus (Christopher Plummer) attempts to rob a bank but is outwitted by bank teller (Eliott Gould). A very good, albeit dated, thriller from 1978.
