NYC braces for the Blizzard Of 2010.
Expecting 12 to 17 in. Every state in the country has been experiencing horrendous weather. But when it threatens the Big Apple we describe it in apocalyptic terms.

Oh well. Wishing you all a Happy New Year
from the Center Of The Universe.:hi:

3. Leaves Tucson 10:20 am (their time)
This doesn't sound good for her. Poor kid always seems to have issues when she flies. But thanks! :hi:

5. I bet it'll be very pretty this time of year
Well, up until it turns into a dirty slushy mess. Central Park, Rockefeller Center and the cute tree-lined street where my daughter lives in the East Village will, I'm sure, be gorgeous!

Too bad she won't get to enjoy it while it's still fresh and new... poor kid's flight home has been postponed until tomorrow. But otoh, I can't think of a much better place to be stranded then sunny warm southern Arizona! :-)

6. yeah, usually we in the Northeast fantasize about warmer
climes this time of year. But it is hard when folks have to travel and deal with weather delays. I once had to fly to Philly in a blizzard- finally ended up in Baltimore and the airline had to bus us. Got in at 4 am.

Haven't been to NYC in winter for years. It is really pretty when it snows.

8. The first flakes started around 10AM..and the intensity has increased steadily
I live next to the water, and right now the snow is blowing horizontally.

It was sticking from the very beginning....I left my car for 10 minutes to run into a market for some essentials, and had to scrape snow off the windows before I could drive back home.

My windows facing the direction of the wind are already blocked out with snow....on the screens.

My porch already has about 2 inches of snow at 1:30PM, and this is supposed to get more intnse and las tthru tomorrow!!1
If I am lucky, I will not be able to get out my front door. LOLOLOLOL

That is what happened to me a couple of years ago. The wind blows all the snow to my side of the street, and the snow banks build up in front of my house.

This is what it looked like, and they are predicting the same or worse now.
My front porch AFTER someone was able to dig me out.

From inside the house, you can see the wall of snow that was there. I could not open the door.

Looking out from the porch. One of my rescuers still digging..

9. Steady snow all day.
It's 5:30 pm and about 4 in. on the ground now. Forecast is for steady, heavy snowfall for the next 12 hrs or more.
