Made a couple more pairs of earrings tonight. (Pics)
These are for my husband's daughter. I'm really just starting out trying to make jewelry, but I figure it's best to keep 'em simple, right? And I need a lot more wire wrapping practice. :eyes:

Sorry the pic is so fuzzy. I forgot to use the flash and I don't feel like taking more pics. Going to bed.

Nitol! :hi:

Not professional at all. Still practicing with really cheap beads until I totally feel like I get it.

If I could learn some wire wrapping techniques I would help simplify my fabrication process.

You really have a talent for this. I love them both, maybe the ones on the right a bit more, because of the color... :D

a couple of girls at work. (I was awake in the wee hours and it hit me that these were not my husband's daughter's style at all.) Oh, well. They were well received by my friends at work.

Thanx! :hi:

17. I never wear earrings
Edited on Mon Dec-27-10 06:55 PM by Dyedinthewoolliberal
but think those are very stylish. Being an artist means learning to be an artist, for most of us, so keep on making jewelry. Each project will be better than the last. It's like the punchline to the old joke where the country boy who plays fiddle goes to New York and says to a cabbie, 'how do I get to Carnegie Hall?" "Practice, practice, practice" was the reply.
Keep practicing! :bounce:

18. LOL!
Good advice, tho. I don't wear much jewelry myself, just my wedding band and another ring that I've had for over 30 years that was a gift from some dear friends. For a long time I didn't wear earrings because my hair is so long, thick and curly you couldn't see them. I now have to wear my hair tied back for work so I'm back to wearing them again. Now feel nekkid without them.

:hi:

26. Nice!
Hi,
Those look really nice, thanks for sharing the pics. The only thing I would suggest is putting a quarter or dime next to them to give them some scale. Maybe it is me, but I can never tell the scale of stuff like this with the photographs. Are you only going to be doing earrings? I know there is a DU Marketplace where other artists sell items they produce, you may want to think about that in the future if you get to the point where you want to sell stuff. I can't think of the nick now, but I know someone that frequents the lounge makes lovely jewelry, and if I recall correctly made California Peggy something.

Peace

32. Hi, hibbing!
Thanx! The one pair is hanging on the edge of on of those small craft organizer boxes, so maybe no more than an inch or so long. I am familiar with the DU Marketplace, which is how I found Etsy to begin with. I'm not looking to sell really, just to make them for myself and friends. Etsy is so huge and there are so many sellers, it's easy to get lost. I looked at so many of them last night looking for supplies and bet I didn't even scratch the surface.

The nick you are looking for is denbot. He is a real artisan with silver and semi-precious gems. I'm just stacking beads, so no comparison at all. LOL

29. I like those. I really want to get my beading stuff out and play with it, but
I've got too much yarn stuff out now that I've been playing with. I've been practicing my knitting lately trying to duplicate some worn out knitted slippers for my dil's grandmother. She (the grandmother) is 96 years old and wears the slippers non stop around the house and has worn out her last pair.

I really like the beads on the green ones. Have you ever checked out the jewelry "grab bags" at shopgoodwill.com? You could probably luck on to some really cool vintage strings of beads and other jewelry from which you could cannibalize.

36. I have!
But did you notice how much they end up going for in the end? I've thought about buying junk jewelre to incorporate into the stuff I make but no way I'm paying those prices. Plus I'd like to go to a flea market and see what I'm actually getting.

Thanx for the idea, though. Much appreciated. :hi:
