2. I'm so sorry. I've been there, believe me, twice, and it hurts
like hell.

I can't throw away the brushes, the water and food dishes, the bones.

Thanks for posting about this. A lot of people don't understand.

5. Aw, beautiful boy
I can tell how much you adored him, and he adored you (and his toys too).

Grief lasts in some way forever. Take care. Hugs.

6. I lost my cat NoName a little over a year ago...

...and I still cry sometimes thinking about her and how much I miss her.

Do you still have or have you gotten or have you considered getting another friend?
.
It's what I'd do now if I just could.
.
.
.
You obviously have a lot of love to give and the love you'll receive couldn't
do anything but HELP you in your grieving process now.

8. My Sweetie and I adopted this beautiful boy this past July

But it just isn't the same.....my big guy had a HUGE vocabulary, really smart, slept next to me every night, and knew when I didn't feel good or was just depressed. He was special and one of a kind.

13.  I hope you tell him he's a beautiful boy.
If you treat him like a special creature, he will fulfill that role to the best of his ability.

10. I am sorry.
We never replace them. But a new pet can be a joy, too.

12. What a beauty.
So much soul in that face.

I know how it is. I still get misty over pictures of my first "doggie sister" who passed when I was 13 (I'm 41 now).

You never stop missing them. But that's OK, in a terrible way. You know you're better for having known him. It's like when any family member passes away; there's no replacement. The grief is part of you now. But so are the experiences of the good times you had together, and that makes it all worthwhile, or why else would anyone take the risk of loving anyone ever?

I'm so sorry.
