Today is my 20th anniversary...
I married a guy I went to high school with. We went out as freshman, but ended up as just very good friends. After graduation, he went into the service and I had a fools rush in marriage. Fate brought us back together. I couldn't ask for a better friend, husband or father of our kids.

Despited the downs (that all couples have) I've never ever doubted that he loves me, not everyone gets to say that. I'm very lucky.

He had a heart attack in Oct, and the doctors said we were lucky we got to the hospital when we did. I don't know what I'd do if he wasn't still here. I want at least another 20 years.

This was our wedding song.

8. Great story. Congratulations!!! And thank you for sharing your joy!

Do you still hold hands?
.
.
.
.
.
Whenever I see an "older" couple holding hands, I know that maybe
it's just a fresh romance -- that they found each other very late
in their lives... but I prefer to think that they're lucky enough to
still have a flame glowing that strong.
.
.
.
It makes me a little melancholy -- that still holding hands with a
person with whom I've been for 20-30-50 years is something I
will never be able to experience.
.
.
.
But that's much more than balanced by the happiness I get a chance
to share in with someone like you two.
.
.
.
I hope you have many, many loving years together.

.

10. Awww MFM what a nice post....
Thank You!

Yes, we still hold hands, but we're not that old both only 43. I really can't imagine myself without him. I still look forward to him getting home from work, or the weekends when we have more time together. When he has to go away on business he always takes my nightshirt, he says it's because it smells like me and helps him sleep when he's away. Silly I know, but it's the little things that keep everything "fresh"..IMO.

It makes me sad that this isn't an experience you'll have. But it's very nice that you enjoy seeing it in other people.
