DANBURY -- Honesty was apparently more important than results for a Danbury man suspected of attempted car theft. Police said Darryl Mourning, 19, of Oakland Avenue, was confronted at 7:42 a.m. Saturday by an employee of Mike's Towing & Collision Center, who allegedly found him under the hood of a Pontiac Grand Am on the business's lot at 1 Chestnut St. Asked what he was doing, Mourning reportedly responded that he was trying to steal the car, police said. Mourning was later charged with third-degree criminal trespassing and third-degree criminal attempt to commit larceny.
