Anyone have any experience with automatic/magnetic kitty doors?
It's going to be on an inside door so we don't have to worry about keeping out raccoons or anything. We are looking to add a feline fuzzbutt to the household.

This will be on the door to a spare bedroom where we will keep the litterbox and catfood. We need the catdoor because our dog likes to use that room as an indoor toilet.

The dog gets along fine with cats so that will not be a problem but the catdoor will also give meowpud some privacy if she chooses.

1. Mine is in the door from house to garage, with variable latch so
we can lock it, or have the door swing one way or the other or both ways. Sox kitty loves it.

Have a look at Myhammer, there is a section for doors-repairing: http://directory.myhammer.com/search?search_term=Doors-repairing&search_location=doors-repairing.
Hope you get some help.

3. Our three cats use a kitty door.
We keep it unlocked, but it can be set to allow several in/out options. Handy thing to have!

4. Thanks everyone.
I've researched a few and I think I've settled on one. I'll probably Amazon it within a few days.

6. Be sure the cat doesn't get too fat
Absolutely true story: Our friend had a magnetic cat door for her 7 felines. One guy, Sammy, gained a LOT of weight, and got wedged in the door one day. They had to remove the cat door, and THEN get it off of Sammy.

Whenever we visit, we see Sammy waddling around, and still laugh. (He didn't think it was very funny)
