The high holy days are nigh
Yes this week as in every year, the High Holy Days begin.
'Tis the week that kicks off the High Holy Days of Basketball with conference tournaments across the country.
Smaller versions of the High Holy Days are celebrated with high school teams doing battle in large state arenas across the land.
This Sunday, Selection Sunday, will bring one of the first mass celebrations when adherents across the land gather in the warm glow of their TV sets to see where their teams will go.
The next few days will be spent in preparation as adherents choose winners on their "brackets' in the hopes of selecting defying odds and picking all the games correctly.
Communion tables consisting of potato chips, pizza, nachos and beer will be put out as adherents join in the rites of the Holy Days
Then the serious take to the arenas and TVs to cheer on their favorites.
The High Holy days of Basketball ends with a mass celebration - this year to be held in Minneapolis - in the form of a game.
Often adherents are drained and tired following the yearly experience, yet the priests of the cult (known as 'coaches') begin preparing immediately for next year's festivities.

Can't wait to fill out the old bracket.
Ohio State vs. Notre Dame in the final.
