Ever eat at Spats? Or Mama Grizzanti's?

Ever been to The Connection?

Longing for the old days...

4. All day every day! I live in the 'Ville!
Mama Grisanti's is a great restaurant; been a while since I've been there. The best Italian restaurant is still Vincenzo's, downtown. A little pricey, but well worth it!

Haven't been to the Connection ... not exactly my "orientation."

Great guitar shop right up the street from me on Bardstown Road in the Highland, Guitar Emporium. Stop in and tell Cooley that Bake sent you. The Bardstown Road "strip" on weekend nights is THE place to go ... lots of great bars, bands indoors and out during the summer.

All kinds of great stuff to do ... the Louisville Slugger plant/museum, the Muhammad Ali Center, Churchill Downs of course, the Fourth Street Live entertainment district downtown. Come see us!

:hi:

7. The Connection isn't my "orientation" either.
I went there with some of my friends in the gay crowd in St. Mathews. I was a little nervous the first time, and all these guys kept asking me to dance, and I had to keep telling them, no thanks. After a while, it occurred to me that all the guys asking me to dance were very good-looking. In a strange, hetero way, that felt good.

I kept going back because it's just flat-out a fantastic club. If one doesn't want to fend off potential dance partners in the disco, there's the piano lounge, the bar, and the cabaret. I loved the shows there. I got into the habit of going with a lesbian friend of mine (who was just astonishingly gorgeous), and we'd share a table. Good arrangement; the straight guys would leave her alone, and the gay guys would leave me alone, and we could have a good time.

The Connection helped make me the gay-friendly guy I am today... B-) :+
