1. I've wondered that myself.
My dog loves foods like carrots and apples but I can't imagine her living on fruits and vegetables alone.

2. Are you talking about cats?
I don't think very many vegans would try to have a cat eat a vegetarian diet but I'm sure they exist. I even came across some special cat food for this kind of thing.

If you're thinking about dogs, they're not obligate carnivores, they can have a wide diet. With vegetarians. I imagine they feed them foods that isn't meat that has protein.

3. TV show "The Goode Family" had a hilarious take on this
Their dog was fed vegan food, and as a result would eat any and all animals in the neighborhood.

Unfortunately, that was the only funny part about the show

4. I feed mine meat.
Just because I realize my digestive system and mind gives me the ability to choose an ethical diet, I'm not so foolish to think that I can impose my diet ethics on something that is carnivorous by biology and cannot live on a plant-based diet.

17. what chan said among the vegans i know
i think a few experimented w. the rice diet or whatever it's called in the 90s for dogs but you can't really experiment w. cats and lots of vegans (or at least the vegans i've met) own cats...

6. Cats are obligate carnivores.
They have to eat meat to survive and thrive.

10. I am a vegetarian, but I feed my pets meat.
I do not believe in forcing my lifestyle on my pets. Dogs and cats are natural carnivores.

11. I'm a vegetarian and my cat eats meat
I have the choice to not eat meat, but she and her fellow felines evolved to eat meat so that's what she gets. :)

13. This vegan has vegetarian dogs.
But then, they are truly omnivores. The stray cats in the area (and the raccoons, et al) eat cat food (meat).

They get their vitamin meat from the blood of the innocent.

19. I am a vegetarian and my dog is on a raw diet.
So he eats frozen raw meat that is grown on an organic farm - mostly lamb, beef, and chicken. I also feed him cooked fish because he loves it so much and the food pantry always tries to give me meat- so I just take the fish and cook it for my dog.

Whenever I've tried to give my dog the vegetable treats or any veggies I am eating he gives me a funny look and walks away. Not gonna happen.
