I don't think very many vegans would try to have a cat eat a vegetarian diet but I'm sure they exist. I even came across some special cat food for this kind of thing.
If you're thinking about dogs, they're not obligate carnivores, they can have a wide diet. With vegetarians. I imagine they feed them foods that isn't meat that has protein.
Just because I realize my digestive system and mind gives me the ability to choose an ethical diet, I'm not so foolish to think that I can impose my diet ethics on something that is carnivorous by biology and cannot live on a plant-based diet.
i think a few experimented w. the rice diet or whatever it's called in the 90s for dogs but you can't really experiment w. cats and lots of vegans (or at least the vegans i've met) own cats...
19. I am a vegetarian and my dog is on a raw diet.
So he eats frozen raw meat that is grown on an organic farm - mostly lamb, beef, and chicken. I also feed him cooked fish because he loves it so much and the food pantry always tries to give me meat- so I just take the fish and cook it for my dog.
Whenever I've tried to give my dog the vegetable treats or any veggies I am eating he gives me a funny look and walks away. Not gonna happen.
