I took a nap this afternoon and I missed our little rain advent, it rained.
I woke up and the street was wet with little puddles.

The grass was a little wet.

I missed it.

1. It's sprinkling on this side of town.
Katy is getting all of the hard rain, but I keep seeing lightning flashes near downtown. Maybe you'll still get some :)

3. I was working in the garden before dark.
It was thundering and lighting a little.

Wow, I did miss the rain.

5. I use Weather Underground's "Wunder Radar"
and can see that the heaviest is out by Columbia now. There's a little bit inside the loop on the west side and it might be moving your way in another hour or so :)

6. I hope so.
I opened the water bill and found out we are rationing water now.

Only certain days to water depending on your address, and then only at night and early morning.

7. Yeah, the Houston Press talked about that a few days ago (or maybe last week.)
Look at their daily blog, Hair Balls, for stuff like that, as well as the funny things Richard Connelly has been posting about "hurricane preparedness" ;)

9. It was preceded by a strong wind induced dust storm, bleh.
I was outside on my work break and thought I needed to clean off my glasses cuz everything was looking fuzzy, then I got caught in somewhat of a wind tunnel and started getting pelted with particles and felt dust in my mouth.
Then it kinda dawned on all of us: Ah, yes, no RAIN in three months so it is a frigging DUST BOWL! People outside around the building had to start rubbing their eyes and spitting dust out of their mouths.
When I went back inside everyone had their noses to the windows like kids looking thru a toy store window...
Didn't last long and, of course, all it did was make it muggier outside but it was nice while it lasted!

10. Whenever you get up again today
you may notice that we've had more rain. It may even keep raining for a while longer, too. There's this line of storms straight from Shreveport to Katy, and spreading out as it reaches Harris county :D

I had to drive in the rain this morning! :bounce:
