i'm getting over a kidney infection and strep throat...ask me anything!
last Thursday I went to the ER about 6pm with 103 fever. It came on right away. Turns out I have a kidney infection.
I had no symptoms prior to my fever and back pain.

Also I have strep throat which came on the same time. I got spots! yea! :sarcasm:

I got home from the hospital on Sunday afternoon, and I've been in bed since then. My dear husband moved is vacation so that he could be home with me all this week. So that's good I don't have to deal with this by myself.

It sure did scare the shit out of us, but I'm on the mend. I have a follow up with my primary doctor on Friday.

I've never been this sick before, and have never had to use an ER...sure does put much of life into perspective.
I've got a lot of stress right now in my life and I think I'm as sick as I am partially due to stress. I think my new motto is going to have to be...well, whatever.

Anyway, I realized I only have two kidneys and I want to keep both of them. nothing is ever going to be more important than my health...and If I find myself stressing about whatever life situation...well, it can just fuck off. I'm going to not worry about it.

4 days in the hospital without DU was almost unbearable ;)

I love you, you weird bunch of people that I've never met. :hi:

1. That stress will kill you.
Glad you are feeling better now.

Take care and find little ways to de-stress your life.

3. thanks...
i've let myself get into a rut, and I'm not really the 'rut' type.

but whatever it takes to hit the reset button.

I'm going to make some changes...we'll see how things play out as I get to feeling better.

thanks xo

Strep throat is the worst, and kidney infections are no picnic!

4. it was no picnic
had to get a steroid shot for the throat swelling.

I was getting straight morphine in the hospital, the kidney pain was that bad.

I'm feeling much better now, of course, but a little advil and some hydrocodone go a long way.
I'll be glad when I don't need anything. I tried to stop all the pain medication today, but still too sore.

thanks xo

9. Glad you're feeling better and had good care so you could recover
I had a kidney infection in June. It came on very suddenly and the fever and chills were so severe that it was scary.
Being that sick puts a lot in perspective for as long as you can hold onto it. Made me very thankful for antibiotics when one really needs them.
